UK Professional & Healthcare Recruitment
These occupations can qualify under the UK Skilled Worker route, including Health and Care Worker provisions where applicable. The usual Skilled Worker salary requirement is £41,700 per year or the occupation’s going rate, whichever is higher — exceptions apply. Professional registration (for example NMC, GMC, HCPC) may also be required.

Seasonal Worker
Fruit and vegetable picking, horticultural work, eligible seasonal poultry work.
Key restriction: Horticulture up to six months; poultry has a specified seasonal window. Requires an authorised scheme sponsor.
Government Authorised Exchange
Approved internships, work experience, training and research placements.
Key restriction: Must operate through an approved scheme; cannot be used for permanent employment.
Charity Worker
Genuine charity volunteering.
Key restriction: Unpaid voluntary work with a licensed sponsor; do not present as a salaried job.
Norway Skilled Industrial & Logistics Recruitment
Norway’s skilled worker route requires both a suitably qualified applicant and a job that genuinely requires skilled qualifications. A certificate — or an upgraded job title — alone does not make an ordinary packing job eligible. The sectors below are assessed with Norwegian employers; they are not automatically approved occupations.
Warehouse Automation

Caregiver / Healthcare Assistant — Restricted Category
Listed as a recruitment category only. Ordinary care roles are assessed against existing Norwegian work rights or the applicable skilled route — a certificate or previous care experience alone does not establish work-permit eligibility. No caregiver vacancy is advertised as sponsored unless and until an authorised, compliant route is confirmed.
Norway Warehouse & Factory Jobs — Existing Work Rights Required
These roles may be listed, but must not be labelled as generally eligible for overseas non-EU/EEA work-permit sponsorship. Norway has no general work permit for overseas applicants taking ordinary unskilled warehouse or factory jobs.
For applicants who already hold suitable Norwegian work rights. Forklift certification or previous factory experience does not by itself establish skilled-worker permit eligibility — the job itself must require skilled qualifications. Ordinary year-round warehouse or factory employment must not be presented as seasonal; Norway’s Seasonal Worker route covers genuinely seasonal employment only (generally six months in a twelve-month period, with NAV assessment normally required outside agriculture and forestry).

AVENHOLT lists Caregiver / Healthcare Assistant as a recruitment category in both the UK and Norway — never as an open sponsored vacancy by default. The UK Care Worker and Senior Care Worker sponsorship route for new overseas applicants closed on 22 July 2025; only applicants already in the UK may have transitional options, assessed individually. In Norway, ordinary care roles sit under the existing-rights rule above.
